We are what we think(where spiritualism and science intersects)

In a world where the boundaries between religion, science, technology, and human are becoming more vague as a result of the advancements made in these fields, many theories that we rejected or seemed absolutely unlikely compared to our reality are starting to make their way into our lives as we become more open to them.

Gautama Buddha, whose teaching became the religion we know today as Buddhism
believed and taught that

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.

A Buddha by definition is someone who achieved what is known as Bodhi, a word that signifies wisdom, a state of ideal intellectual and ideal perfection that can be achieved by anyone through human means.(read more about Bodhi). A Buddha might also be translated as “enlightened one”

We do know that a positive outlook about both ourselves and our goals is a key factor in achieving success and developing a character that is present in most successful people, while also leading a life where our confidence dominates failure, and persistence leads to victory. However, you might find that the power of positiveness is much more than we thought so far, and perhaps those who taught these things might have been the first to unknowingly describe something much deeper.

Quantum physics, the science that studies the behavior and properties of small particles(for the sake of simplicity) states that everything is made up of atoms that are made up of particles named quanta. Quanta being in itself energy that vibrates at a certain frequency, and have the property of attracting other similar particles. Are you starting to see what I’m trying to say?

Enough with the definitions, let’s dive a bit deeper into this rabbit hole of science and spirituality. But before that, let’s take a look at what “particle duality” means:

Waveparticle duality is the concept in quantum mechanics that every particle or quantum entity may be partly described in terms not only of particles, but also of waves. It expresses the inability of the classical concepts “particle” or “wave” to fully describe the behavior of quantum-scale objects.

Wave particle duality has been researched and experimented on, leading to an amazing discovery regarding the behavior of particles depending whether they were or were not observed. This is also known as the observer effect.

Looking from both the scientific and spiritual perspective, there exists a large number of people who believe that the law of attraction, which
in the New Thought movement, is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, people can bring positive or negative experiences into their life.

Seeing as how particles behave, which we are made out of, fundamentally, and taking into consideration the law of attraction, is not hard to see why this amazing way of seeing and thinking about yourself and the world around you can materialize into the reality we live every day, to a certain degree.

Do you believe that our thoughts shape the reality we live? Or do you think about this as an absurd and improbable theory? Let me know below!
